Pecha-Kucha + Yummy = Night of Awesome!

As I've noted previously, the opening party for Yummy! is happening on Friday, August 14 from 6 pm to midnight at Junctionview Studios in Columbus.

We've teamed up with the folks at Pecha-Kucha Night Columbus (PK organizer and Couchfire Collective member Kevin Ward will have work in the Yummy! show) to have Pecha-Kucha Night Volume 10 coincide with the opening of Yummy!

If you're unfamiliar with Pecha-Kucha, (Japanese for "the sound of conversation"), it's a forum for creative people to share information about the work they do. Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each - giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show.
Pecha-Kucha Nights happen all over the world, from Amsterdam to Hong Kong to LA to Chattanooga!

On August 14th, Pecha-Kucha will be happening right at Junctionview Studios, outdoors (weather-permitting)! Bring your own lawn chair: the fun starts at sundown!
There will be a few presenters at PK Night who are also showing their work in the show. It's a fabulous way to hear more about these artists' work and ideas.

To RSVP, check out Columbus PK's Facebook invite HERE.

  • Bringing non-perishable food items to donate
  • Donating some cash

The Mid-Ohio Foodbank obtains & distributes food to more than 500 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, after-school programs, and senior housing sites across central and eastern Ohio.

Welcome!

Hello everyone and welcome to the Yummy! art show blog. Over the next few weeks, I will be posting info about the show, bios of the participating artists, and sneak previews of the work you'll see in Yummy!

Special thanks to artist Mark Mattson for lending his Strawberry Candy image to be used for Yummy! promo materials.
